Principal's Message

Welcome to Lakewood Middle School!

As we begin the 2026-2027 school year, I want to express my enthusiasm and commitment to serving our Mustang community. At Lakewood, we believe our school is a place where students, staff, parents/guardians, and administrators work together to educate our students and ensure each individual can reach their full potential. Middle school is a time of tremendous growth and opportunity. We want to embrace this important stage by encouraging students to explore their strengths, build confidence, and discover their unique potential.

At the heart of Lakewood is a caring staff dedicated to providing a safe learning environment where all students are challenged academically and encouraged to take educational risks. Our teachers work collaboratively in a team structure to ensure each student is known and supported. This enables core curriculum teachers to effectively address the unique learning needs of each student while providing personalized support and opportunities for success.

Beyond the classroom, we take pride in the wide array of courses, activities, athletics, and clubs available to our students. These opportunities create a sense of belonging, teamwork, and leadership among our students. Additionally, we support the development of students’ social-emotional skills through an intentional curriculum focused on areas such as relationships, decision-making, self-advocacy, and personal growth.

I welcome opportunities to connect with parents and community members to explore how we can best support our students and the Salina community. Building strong partnerships with families, local agencies, and organizations strengthens our capacity to support the diverse needs within our school. Together, we will create a foundation where students succeed, educators excel, and our community takes pride in the achievements of Lakewood.
